Two easy ways to make reaching out to a friend less stressful and more enjoyable.

Nothing like a phone call to a friend to feel re-nourished and renewed.  Sure, but what if you're busy?   I recenty looked up favorites on my cell phone, hit dial and reached someone I have not talked with in a great while-automation is key to less stress with one button to push.  One of my picks, who was off Veteran’s Day, actually answered the phone.  Hence a connection made.  We shared stories and caught up on the news.  It made me feel good to chat and catch up.  We talked about how so many years ago we learned that the most important thing you can do when you feel lonely or blue is to call a friend because it will make you feel better.  -We need each other on so many levels.

Sometimes it can seem as though that phone weighs 900 pounds.  That is when you need to pick it up the most and make a call.  When you do, perhaps schedule this friend to meet for a cup of coffee or simply spend time reminiscing.  If you decide to meet, pencil them in so you can enjoy the time on your calendar.  If its on the calendar -it makes it official enjoyment time.   You can almost see the smile on their face when they answer the phone and hear your voice.  It means you cared enough to call.

Permit yourself time to schedule a well deserved piece of stress free sharing, in person or on the phone.
